In the heart of San Daniele

Tancredi’s menu is based on traditional cuisine, with a few innovative twists. Its menu follows the seasons and emphasizes gives priority to local produce and the authentic flavours of Friulian tradition.

How could we not mention the tasting of San Daniele raw cured ham accompanied by our sweet and sour giardiniera (pickles), or the selection of cured meats and cheeses, a never boring ordinary and always varied selection, enhanced by delicious preserves. jams and mustards. Trout is also typical another speciality of the area, as our territory land is crossed by numerous waterways, including the most important, the Tagliamento, studied worldwide as the last wild braided river in Europe, a model for the management and restoration of other compromised river systems. Typical dishes range from the highly sought-after Tagliolini alla San Daniele to the curious Cjalsons, sweet and savory tortelli originating from nearby Carnia, our north-western mountain region. Our signature dish par excellence, Frico, also hails from there: a soft pan-fried, soft with an outer crust, pie made with local cheeses, potatoes, and onions, always served exclusively with polenta. Silvia was a well-rounded cook, and still is for her family and friends, which is why desserts have always held a special place on our menu. Gubana, a typical dessert from the Natisone Valleys, is no longer homemade but rather made in specialist artisan workshops that preserve the original recipe.
